Monochromatic Love | Giyani & Mika


There’s something timeless about simplicity when the focus shifts away from distractions and lands solely on the love between two people.


We used a monochromatic colour scheme for Giyani and Mika's engagement photo shoot at Studio Alora in Parktown North, Johannesburg, to create a crisp, editorial vibe that highlighted their relationship. We were able to create photographs that feel both contemporary and timeless because of the studio's gentle lighting and simple background. 


Mika and Giyani added a carefree elegance to the photo session. There was no denying their chemistry, and each picture conveyed a tale of comfort, joy, and intense love. The way that monochrome reduces everything to just emotion and detail makes it incredibly potent. Each smile, glance, and touch became amplified, creating photographs that are as sophisticated as they are heartfelt.


This session was more than portraits; it was about celebrating a love that feels natural, confident, and refined. I can’t wait to see this chapter of their journey continue into the beautiful celebration ahead.
